Well, it depends how far you want to go back! 

 

Adrian, the founder of House 2 Home Lets Ltd, had a passion for property for as long as he can remember – poring over auction catalogues whilst at secondary school and anxiously waiting for the latest issue of the ‘Homeseeker’ newspaper to come out each week (this is pre-internet)!

Back in 2007, he had just completed on his first property purchase – a one bedroom house on the Barbican in Plymouth, a property he still owns today.  When he looked around at what letting agents wanted to charge him to manage the property, he realised that his ‘investment’ would actually end up costing him money!  He then looked into what these letting agents would be charging tenants (clue – an awful lot), and he soon realised that the only people who would be profiting would be the letting agents and that this would be at the cost of him and his tenants.

Being, at the time, a law student he thought “I can do this myself” and hoped to provide a better service to landlords and also make their properties more attractive to tenants (and therefore let them quicker) by not charging tenants any fees!

​

Starting with that one property on the Barbican in Plymouth, House 2 Home Lets Ltd has gone from strength to strength and now manages hundreds of tenancies across the whole of Devon and Cornwall.

​

Whilst Adrian is still very much involved in the business, he is now also a practicing solicitor, so the day to day management of properties is generally dealt with by one of the other members of the team. 

 

Whilst we have been around longer than we care to remember, our fundamental principles have not changed – provide landlords with a “service that exceeds the best, at a price cheaper than the rest” and not be your 'typical' agent - we are real people... no shiny suits!

2007 – November, an early iteration of House 2 Home Lets Ltd is formed, with no tenant fees as its primary selling point

2008 – Our first fee paying landlord is taken on, in Plymouth

2008 – The number of properties under management gets into double figures!

2010 – We take on our first team member – Jacqueline, who joins the family team

2011 – The official ‘birthday’ of House 2 Home Lets Ltd – 15 April 2011

2011 – 11 September, our first Facebook post

​

2012 – We expand out of Plymouth, with the addition of a portfolio of properties in Kingsteignton

​

2013 – We join the Southwest Landlords Association

​

2013 – The ‘mug shot’ idea is launched!

​

2014 – Our first website is launched

​

2014 – We join the Information Commissioners Office

​

2014 – One of the early examples of our ‘different’ take on advertising – a House 2 Home Lets Ltd on a banner in front of the White                   House in Washington DC

2014 – We join the Property Redress Scheme

​

2015 – We expand to Exeter

​

2016 – We expand into Cornwall

​

2018 – Expansion takes us to North Devon

2018 – New logo launched, making it clear that House 2 Home Lets Ltd is the original no tenant fees letting agency!

2019 – We join Client Money Protect

2020 – We open our brand new offices in Chestnut Road, Plymouth

2020+ - Planned expansion throughout Devon and Cornwall, providing landlords with an incredibly competitive service, and                                homes to tenants without charging any tenant fees
